Posted on July 3, 2014

Set sparks to the grill, get your blankets, and grab the lawn chairs because like, Happy Birthday America. This is drilled into every elementary school student’s brain, but in case the non-stop craziness of life has your memory foggy about what we are celebrating on the 4th of July, here is a quick history lesson. This is the day the 13 colonies recognized themselves as 13 sovereign states independent from the British Empire. This is America’s birthday, and what is a birthday without candles? Not a birthday. So go out with friends and family and watch these candles explode into an array of color that illuminate the sky and wish America a happy 238th.

1. Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks

Ny
The setting will return to the Brooklyn Bridge along the Hudson River for its 38th annual performance. The Fireworks will take to the sky as they are accompanied by pop music favorites. This year, there will also be live performances by Ariana Grande and Miranda Lambert. Ignite the night with Macy’s for Fourth of July.

2. Boston Pops Firework Spectacular

Boston

With the nation’s Capitol as a backdrop this one of the best places to be watching a firework display.

4. Philadelphia Firework Display

It starts June 28th for a week of festivities with a lot of live performances including a performance from hometown favorites, The Roots. So enjoy fireworks multiple times this week in Philly, but know they are all pale in comparison to what you will witness on the fourth.

5. Freedom Over Texas

Houston
Houston Provides one of the largest land based firework displays in America. Located at  Eleanor Tinsley Park, the Houston streets will be filled with parades, and many live performances on July 4.
